Information and Referral
Consumers and community partners are linked with resources such as food, clothing, utility assistance, and shelter.
Case Management
Consumers meet with a case manager to identify needs and develop goals. Consumers are then equipped with the tools necessary to access resources on their own.
In Home Parenting
Parent Educators work with families in their own homes and provide education through the Parents as Teachers and Active Parenting Today curricula.
Medication Assistance Program
Consumers, who lack prescription drug coverage, are provided access to maintenance medications at low or no cost.
Pediculosis Outreach Program
Education and non-pesticide treatments are provided to families dealing with head lice. Follow up home visits are provided for families to help them address environmental concerns.
Smoke Free Talladega
Students take part in the school-based Youth Empowerment Program which educates them on the dangers of tobacco use and encourages them to effectuate change within their community. Staff also provide educational information on secondhand smoke at community events.
Imagination Library
Children, birth to five years of age, receive free, age appropriate books in the mail each month.
Building Blocks
This hospital visitation program works with Citizens Hospital to provide resource information to all new mothers. Parents interested in enrolling in the Building Blocks program receive a welcome packet, enrollment in Imagination Library, and bi-monthly educational newsletters and packets until their child’s 3rd birthday. Parents also have access to a “warmline” that links them to resources and support.
N.O.T.
Not on Tobacco is a program taken from the American Lung Association and is taught in 10 week seesions to high school students. This is a tobacco cessation program for teenagers that either smoke or use spit/chew tobacco.

A new program to help make people aware of the changes to the food assistance programs.
